We have signed up for a 50K bike ride tomorrow. That’s 31 MILES folks!!! And since neither of us has spent more than 30 minutes on our bikes up until yesterday, we’re a tad nervous. It’s a ride called “The Gambler” and it’s part of Athens Twilight (http://www.athenstwilight.com/). It’s called “The Gambler” because the route passes by a farm built by Kenny Rogers. And to make it even more interesting, you collect playing cards along the way and the bikers with the best poker hands at the end will win prizes. We think it will be a lot of fun, and a lot of work. So wish us luck!

That’s right folks…Erin has finally worked up the nerve to donate blood….and she’s hooked! Seriously…she’s a blood donating fiend.
Please donate y’all. One donation could save up to three lives.
…and you get juice and cookies!

Friday, Benjy was surprised with an early birthday gift….a bi-plane ride!

Benjy and I got to ride together in the co-pilot seat while the pilot sat behind us. We enjoyed a 40 minute flight over downtown Atlanta and Stone Mountain at about a 1/2 mile altitude. It was very neat. We’ll post more photos from the trip when we post our April photo album. The plane picked us up at a restaurant called the 57th Fighter Group. The restaurant was decorated with a WWII theme and we enjoyed a delicious dinner (beer cheese soup and filet mignon).
Saturday was a lazy day. Erin napped in the yard while Benjy smoked a roast. Sunday we decorated easter eggs with a few of our pals that were in town for the holiday weekend.

We’ve really been enjoying all the birds around our house. Benjy is quite skilled in catching them on film…er, memory card.

We see this cardinal couple quite often. Benjy has named them Lucy and Ricky. We just added a hummingbird feeder today and are eager to see if we can snap any photos of those quick creatures.
We’re both feeling pretty beat by this first day back to work. We hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as we did.

About a month ago, Benjy and I started taking yoga with our friends, Josh and Emily. We started going to a donation-based studio called Rubber Soul. We’re loving it. We are especially fond of our instructor, who is super friendly and quirky. In fact, I’m afraid we might shun others who might try to teach us differently some day.
We tried something new in yoga class tonight, a laughing meditation. (http://www.dailyom.com/articles/2005/584.html) Did you know that laughter can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, elevate mood, boost your immune system, improve brain functioning, protect the heart, connect you to others, foster instant relaxation, and….MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD!? We wish you all could have been there.

We’ve had lots of purty flowers poppin’ up in the garden Benjy planted. And lots of birds have stopped by the bird-feeder that Benjy crafted and hung outside our livingroom window. We are in love with our yard! We’ve already had many cookouts in the backyard, a few games of badminton and we’ve even done some afternoon nappin’ in the shade of our mini-forest of wild shrubbery.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEAH!!!
