I was busy for the first half of December because of an audit at work. Benjy was busy looking for a job. (job-hunting sucks!) And we were both busy trying to get ready for the holidays.
I have this week off of work. Christmas Eve, we watched Little Miss Sunshine. Grrreat movie!!!
We spent Christmas Day hiding inside from the rain.

The day after Christmas, Jessica, Catherine and Daniel came over for sushi.

We made the sushi ourselves.

Jessica made yummy Miso soup.

We went downtown for drinks.

Then came home for an impromptu dance party.

It was a wonderful visit with friends!!
The next day, Benjy’s parents (Bill and Susan) came into town. They will be with us until Sunday. More pictures to come soon I hope!
Hope everyone has a very happy new year!

For many years now, I have thought that the world would be a better place if everyone had their very own permanent gift registry. I am making a formal request that all my friends and family sign up for their own registry at this website.

What’s in it for you? When people ask you what you want for your birthday, Christmas, graduation, etc., you can just refer them to your list on the website. You don’t have to be self-conscious about the prices of the items you ask for, because people can pick any item from the price-range they are comfortable with. You don’t have to think twice about telling too many people about a certain item you want. Once someone buys that item from your registry, everyone else will know to look for something else. You are more likely to get gifts that you like, the right size, the perfect color, etc. Oh, and people can surprise you with the “perfect gift” any time, housewarmings, thank you gifts, and so on.
Some folks, like my dear friend JP, think a registry list takes all the fun out of gift buying. Well, you don’t need to tell everyone about your registry, only the folks who ask you for ideas of what you want. And creative folks, like JP, can always stray from the registry and surprise you with gifts you never even knew you wanted. And non-creative folks, like me, can be rescued by your registry, or maybe just use your registry to get other ideas.
Seriously folks, make the holiday season a little easier on all your loved ones, and make your own “wish list” at http://www.myregistry.com/. And be sure to let me know when you do.
