I got 22 out of 25, I didn’t think I was so observant. How’d you do?

When I get a craving for some food, which happens on a fairly regular basis, I have gotta have it. Well, lately I have been craving a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I don’t eat peanut butter that often but I knew we had some in the cupboard. I picked up some grape jelly at the store the other day and I was set. I made my long awaited PB&J this morning and packed it up to bring to work for lunch. Then I got to thinking about the peanut butter recall. I vaguely remember checking our peanut butter when the recall was first announced and I assumed that since the jar was still in the cupboard that our peanut butter must not have fallen under the recall. But then I thought, better safe than salmonella. I found an article online to find out exactly what peanut butters were recalled, then I called home and asked Benjy to check the jar in our cupboard. Sure enough, our peanut butter is a salmonella suspect.
Whew! That was a close one. But, dang, I still want that PB&J!
Benjerin Public Service Announcement: Everyone play it safe and double-check your peanut butter! (The peanut butter recall covers Peter Pan and Great Value brands with product codes that begin with 2111.)
How sad. We only seem to be able to manage a blog post once a month these days. I’ll try to get better about that. Since it has been so long since our last post, this will just be a random update post.
May photos have been posted. We had a busy month in May. We spent a weekend in Charlotte with my cousin, Will, and his wife, Lacey. We also got to visit with our dear friend, Catherine, who moved to Charlotte at the beginning of this year. We spent Memorial weekend in St. Louis with my parents and my sister, and visited with extended family too. Both trips were great! We wish we had more time to travel and visit with family and friends.
June has shaped up to be a pretty busy month as well. More weekends spent out of town, and photos to come soon. We had an audit at work that was stressful as usual. Blech!
Benjy no longer works at the custom frame shop and is in search for another job. Send good vibes please!
Oz (our foster dog) has officially become a member of the Benjerin household. He is such a sweet dog and he gets along with Obi and Keena so well. We couldn’t imagine that we’d find him a happier home. I must admit that I’m a tad nervous that the dogs now out-number the humans. We just posted new videos of the doggies playing. Warning: These dogs play RUFF! (hardy har har) Click here for video 1, and click here for video 2.
We just watched Holes. Cute, cute, cute! If you haven’t seen this, see it!
Like I said, random post.
I have the entire week of the 4th off of work. We’ll spend several days with Benjy’s parents. We haven’t seen them since December and we are looking forward to a trip to Virginia. I also hope to make a trip to the Atlanta Zoo sometime that week. And there’s talk of a trip down a river with Jessica. I’m also in search of a good fireworks show. Wish us luck!
Signing off for now!
