A Not So Brief Update
I figure it is about time for an update since it has been almost a month. But I’ll keep it brief.
I’m on a new “gettin’ fit” kick. I am in love with the website www.sparkpeople.com, which I mentioned very briefly in a post earlier this year. You create a profile and enter in your weight loss goals. Based on your goals and your exercise plans, the website will calculate how many calories you can consume each day. There are tools on the website that make it super easy to track everything you eat, all the exercise you do, and any other personal goals that you add. There is also a ton of educational information on the website, and lots of motivational tools. And it’s free! I love it! I could go on for days about SparkPeople, but I won’t. If you want to see my progress, click here. Also as a result of my newest “gettin’ fit” kick, I have started going to the gym more frequently. My friend Emily and I are really enjoying all the classes our gym offers, especially step aerobics and barbell classes. All these new healthy habits are taking away from my internet time, but I promise to have August and September photos posted within the next two weeks.
Benjy is still really enjoying his job at TSAV. He has just started his 3rd month. They are still working on the smartboard project for the public school system, so he works some funky hours which means that we don’t get to see very much of each other during the week. Benjy is also very excitedly working on his newest homebrew. He got a free refrigerator from a friend (Thanks Daniel!) and used some birthday money to buy kegging supplies, so now he will be able to enjoy his homebrew on tap! Since we haven’t seen much of each other during the week, we try to make the most of our weekends. This past weekend was especially relaxing. We got a few chores done around the house, but we also enjoyed some hammock time. I even started reading a book! My parents would be so proud!! I’m reading “Marley and Me” and I’m only halfway through, so if you’ve read it already, don’t spoil it for me! I only read one book every three years!
So much for keeping this brief…
P.S. If anyone is interested in joining SparkPeople, please let me know. I would like to start a small “SparkTeam” where friends, family and acquaintances can meet to share tips and ideas, motivate each other, or just plain vent. (Also, when you sign up, tell them “ermoth” sent you…I’ll get SparkPoints….heehee!)
