If you have 20 minutes (and decent internet connection speed) you should watch this video called The Story of Stuff. I can’t support every statement made in this video and I tend to avoid politics, BUT I do believe that everyone should make the effort to consume less, to waste less. It may not ultimately save our planet, but it couldn’t hurt.

Erin’s Goals for 2007 – the results.
1. Lose 10 pounds. – I lost 14! (I love sparkpeople.com)
2. Donate blood at least 3 times. – DONE
3. Make more of an effort to keep up with current events. – I skim the CNN.com homepage about once a day. That’s an improvement.
4. Drink more green tea. – Eh, I kind of lost interest in this one, but I’m sure I drank more tea in 2007 than I did in 2006.
5. Take a day-trip to Tallulah Gorge. – DONE and enjoyed greatly!
6. Save money. – DONE. Surprisingly I surpassed my goal on this one, almost doubled it. Yippee!
7. Play the violin. – DONE…but only the one time.
Overall, I’m really proud of my successes in 2007. I hope you all had a successful 2007 and have the energy and passion to reach your goals for 2008!

Happy New Year everyone! Can you believe it is 2008 already?! Yikes!
Benjy and I rang in the New Year with our friends Laci and Alan. We had a wonderful time! We went out for a sushi dinner…yum. Then we tried a new “gourmet beer bar” in Athens called Trappeze Pub. This place had a 10 page menu of beer! I think there were somewhere between 20 and 30 beers on tap and supposedly another 200 types of bottled beer. Benjy was in heaven. We all tried something new. We really enjoyed the atmosphere as well and we hope this bar stays open for a very long time. With only about an hour left in 2007, we headed back to Laci and Alan’s place to watch the countdown and enjoy a more laid back start to the new year.
Now I’m really bummed about going back to work tomorrow, considering I just enjoyed 11 days off! At least it will be Wednesday already.
I hope to do a “New Year Resolution” post in the next couple of days. That might be tricky, however, considering that I’m contemplating a resolution to spend less time on the internet…
