Saturday afternoon we saw one of the Saint Louis Film Festival offerings - "Beyond the Call". It was a documentary about 3 American men who deliver aid supplies to some incredibly dangerous places like Afghanistan and Cambodia. These 3 guys are just amazing - they get pharmaceutical companies to donate millions of dollars of medical supplies and they get donations of money from corporations and individuals. They take the donation money and buy food, tents, blankets, and clothing. Then they plan relief missions to take all these useful things to places where people need help. They do not drag along any political ideology or religious dogma. They just take stuff to people who need it. The movie made me feel bad about all the places in the world where people are in horrible situations through no fault of their own. The movie made me feel good that these three Americans are generous and creative in making an impact. The movie made me think about how lucky I am, about karma and paying forward. -- Nan
