a serious moment
Last week John got a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes. It's good to have an explanation for the symptoms he was experiencing. He had already diagnosed himself, based on a "Scrubs" episode. Apparently the disease will be manageable, but he has to adopt a very different lifestyle that includes healthy foods and exercise. Luckily, he already quit smoking earlier this year. He has started his new diabetes medication, but hasn't used the glucose meter yet. He's thinking about what kind of exercise appeals to him. On January 5th, we meet with a Diabetes Educator and a Nutrition Counselor - yes, I'm going too. Diabetes is a serious disease. I hope John stays motivated. -- Nan
