swell Saturday

I didn't do anything Irish for Saint Patrick's Day, but I had a pretty swell Saturday.  We had breakfast at Rooster, the crepe restaurant a block from our place.  I had a crepe with Missouri-made German sausage, so not very Irish.  Then I spent a few hours sort of chained to the PC - listing some items on FreeCycle and then responding to the e-mails about those items. I LOVE FreeCycle!  I moved a lot of items out of my home - things I don't care about anymore.  And people who want those things get to have them as free gifts.  What a great idea - the person who thought up the FreeCycle idea is some kind of genius.  Then I spent a few more hours sort of chained to the PC doing our income taxes.  OK, so that part of the day couldn't actually be called "swell".  Then we went out to dinner at the Melting Pot with some friends.  It was a terrific meal, lasted for hours, with lots of visiting and story telling.  My friend Laura said, "There is laughter at every table!"

mmmm, rooster. I didn't do anything particularly irish unless you count drinking Jameson but I don't know if the irish even drink Jameson. Maybe they drink Southern Comfort.

What's this Rooster? I feel left out! Benjy and I didn't do anything very Irish either. I worked and our friend Brandy payed a little visit, but we both wore green and drank alcohol...but nothing Irish. (Wait! Benjy claims that all beer is Celt.) I also have joined Freecycle. It is so interesting to see what some people are willing to give away, and what others are expecting for free. Everything from plastic bags and cardboard boxes, to large appliances and furniture!
